have you ever had an experience where you got all psyched up to go to the outlet mall, planning to spend loads of cash at the stores (including polo and gap) only to find out there are no good stores in the whole 2.45 acre mall? i have had experiences like that in california, where the best outlet in the whole place is BIG DOGS (BTW--is there any such thing as a BIG DOGS store, or just an outlet??) and the food court (too bad they don't have outlet prices). anyway, the outlet mall here is completely unbelievable. First off, there are 2 outlet malls right next to each other. This means double the pleasure.

Roomie Robin and I made a little trip to the said outlet mall and had quite a nice time. we bought some great pillows at the crate & barrel outlet in bright colors to match our living room decor (photos to come in future update). i also got some great deals on a couple new tops, a skirt and a belt. we also got quite a workout. remember how big outlet malls are? remember how you have to walk through the entire parking lot to get to that one great store across the mall? and we did it in the heat of a texas afternoon.

i also had my second to last soccer game of the season. i actually played a really good game, and my team did so well. but, with forwards like me, we have been struggling to put the ball in the net. minor detail. it was a moral victory becuase we definitely outplayed them. and because i brought cookies for my team after the game--shout out to annie for sending me the new white chocolate m&ms. i made cranberry/white chocolate m&m cookies. quite a hit.

friday night i went to a comedy club called the velveeta room. it's one of my favorite activities becuase its cheap, entertaining and close-by. five of us went, got front row seats and laughed throughout the whole thing. there were 6 comedians and they were all good. this doesnt happen very often.

the apartment is slowly coming together. i did some rearranging in my room, and things are looking good. visitors welcome, especially since we have a futon! robin and i cooked our first dinner together. i made a very healthy quiche and she made a great salad. it was so good.

i am in desperate need of a tv show to be "in to." i have project runway, but one show is not enough. suggestions welcome.

WARNING: do you have a sliding door leading to a balcony? does it have a locking device? well, last wednesday i found out mine DOES. ari and i had just finished a nice dinner and went out on the balcony to hang out (in the new patio chairs). after a bit of time out there, we were ready to head inside. minor detail--the locking device was in place. it goes without saying that we were stuck out on the patio, begging passersbys to come save us. ari even volunteered to jump (2 stories) and then come around. i wouldnt allow this. he tried calling his (pregnant--very VERY pregnant) sister to come rescue us. she was happy to help. all ready to jump in her car and drive to the rescue, she couldnt find her keys. minor detail once again. in the end, robin saved us when she returned from her yoga class AND ari's sister found her keys. this could have come in handy had she gone into labor and needed to drive to the hospital. so really, we did a good deed.
