I have coworkers!

Robin is on the left in the blue. She is the program associate and is one of the most on-top-of-it people I have ever met. She's only a year older than me but is very mature, which is nice. Margo is in the middle back. She's the "boss" but she definitely gives us (way too much) freedom. She is one of the mail reasons I chose Texas Hillel and she lives up to all the "hype" surrounding her. Margo just has a way with people, it's hard to explain but it's just the truth. Yael is the Israel fellow, and, by process of elimination I'm sure you have figured out that she's the one on the right. She got here (direct from Israel) about 2 weeks ago and is still definitely suffering from culture shock. But it's really fun becuase she gets excited over just about anything--and i mean anything. Going around target with her was hilarious! And then there's me in my texas shirt. This was a night to remember...Margo had us all over for shabbat along with robin's mom who was in town. We prepared dinner together and then sat around talking for hours. Good times.

I've finally begun to interact with students which is SO great. The office is getting more lively as the students start to trickle in as they return from summer break. I already have my first coffee date with a freshman scheduled for monday. I think him and I are equally excited about it!

Jackie, my roomie, is wonderful. Her dog, Toby, is a little crazy, but I wouldn't trade getting to live with Jackie for anything. We get along really well and the apartment really allows us to have our own personal space. But we go out together and hang out in the living room together often and it's just nice. Here's our first picture together. The pic was taken at SIX which is the bar lance armstrong opened when he had won 6 tour de france races. Now it should be changed to SEVEN, i guess.

I've done a lot of fun stuff this week including dinner at Hyde Park Bar and Grill (one of my favorite spots) with 5 others and a night out last night for Dane's birthday. We went to a couple of different bars and then my friend Adam and I went to Kerbey Lane for a late night snack. The apple whole wheat pancakes were amazing!

So, now it's Friday and almost time for the weekend. I will be working this weekend, meeting freshmen in the dorms and then helping to host the welcome back brunch here at Hillel. And then there will definitely be some sleeping and relaxing!
